Good ride today.

I had a good ride today with my group. The group ride went 60km out and about the greater Barrie area. I rode 75km including riding to the meeting place and back. The rain didn't come and we actually had some sunshine which make the ride nice, but it was still a little on the cool side at 17-18C

Not much else going on. NO lives to save! NO extra training for any up coming meets. Just base training and trying to get my weight down as I pick up my running now...... Oh yes! I forgot, I didn't enter the Scotia Bank Waterfront Marathon which is tomorrow. I'm not ready for it with my run being so slow. I'll have to wait to do my marathon racing for another time, for now I'll gradually increase my run speed and distance over time, so I don't re injure my heel.

Felt lazy....But!!

I vacuumed the house, Does that count as cross training? lol

No training today. I felt lazy today so i didn't ride. I felt guilty for not going out on a bike ride today, because the weather looked great this morning! It was nice and sunny, but the temperature was coolish at around 15C

Tomorrows plan is a group ride. The weather report is calling for rain in the afternoon. We plan to leave around 9:30am hopefully the rain will hold off until after we finish our ride.

29:20 Run

29:20 is what I ran my 5k in today. It's a little better then last time. :)

When I got home last night after work I found this little guy in my house hopping across my front foyer. How this tree frog got into my house , I don't know? I caught him and let him back outside where he belonged after taking a few pictures.

While I was trying to catch him he jumped up on the door.

New TV Drama Series on ABC Network Called FlashForward

Talk about 6 degrees of separation.

This Thursday night Sept 24Th on ABC (USA) CTV-A channel Stations (Canada) Will air the season premiere of Flashforward that I'll be watching!!
Flashforward is a new TV series based on Robert J Sawyers novel of the same name. http://sfwriter.com/exff.htm

You can learn more about Robert J Sawyer on his website here.Rob's Web Site or his blog here Most Recent Post

Well here is the 6 steps to separation. I went to high school with Robert J sawyer. I knew him in passing and wasn't a real friend, as I was into sports and he was into space and science and computers, yes he was a geek! and I was a jock! but our paths did cross being in the same classes thought out high school.

He married his high school sweetheart Carolyn Clink, who I knew and who was also in several of my classes though out high school. I even dated Carolyn's younger sister Patsy Clink for a short time.

Back in May 2007 We had a 50Th high school reunion for our School Northview Hts SS where I met up with Rob, Carolyn and Patsy, where we reminisced of old times.

That is when I found out about Robert J Sawyer being the writer/Author he is today, and since then I have been frequenting his blog site! ........All I can say is what a small world! And I'm happy for all his success in being an award winning sci fi writer/Author, and more so now, with one of his books "Flashforward" being made into a top branded Tv series for the ABC network. Woot! Woot!

The show can be seen around the world at these broadcaster.

Rain day

It's warm and humid today, but It's raining. I was planing on a bike and short run, but it's not going to happen. I don't train in the rain if I can help it. Instead I will work some core later in the day at work during my dinner break, maybe do some stairs.

Tomorrow the weather should be better and I attempt another slow 5k run.

It's funny? one mans garbage is another mans treasure. .....I've been clearing out my garage this past week and some of the stuff I had cluttered in there I put out to the street hoping someone will pick it up. I had no use for the stuff any more.

Some of stuff I put out was furniture. Like an old end table, an old dresser top with shelves, and my old treadmill that was given to me by a friend from work when I was training for Ironman Arizona 2006 for my second Ironman. ( That was back when my wife was out of work the first time, and I couldn't afford a rec pass to train or run indoors over the winter. So a friend at work I was talking to about my situation, said she had an old treadmill she doesn't use and I could have it! but I would have to pick it up. So I did! ) Well it served it's purpose and I bought a new better treadmill since.

Well it didn't take long for someone to pick up the stuff!! After the first night the furniture was gone, and today I noticed the treadmill was gone. I'm glad it went fast! as I don't want my neighbours complaining about me putting stuff out on the street and having it sit there for a long time looking like clutter. And I'm glad someone will get good use from my stuff, rather then it sit in my garage and collect dust.

31:13

Yes, 31:13 is what I ran my 5k in this morning. Pretty pathetic!

I'm a wreck! My knees, specially my left knee was killing me so I had to stop and walk every 200m. I don't know if it's the weather causing my knee pain or my weight. I hope as I lose more weight my knees will get better. As for my feet? I'm not having much trouble with them, but they will never be 100%

80's Birthday party pictures

Some photos from Scott's 80's Birthday party...

A couple of the hot 80's chicks ...Looking Good!! Scott the Birthday boy in his mullet and Zoes in very retro 80's hair that had flashing glowing lights.

Pacman cake.

Another mullet wearing jock!!

More cool outfits.

80's party was a blast into the past.

It was totally fun, about 50 people showed up for my friend Scott's 80's surprise birthday party all dressed up in 80's style cloths. The music was all 80's, posters from the 80's and memorabilia all over the place! The lady's looked great dressed up with 80's style cloths and big hair. Some of the guy's look great to, with there cloths and wearing mullet wigs. hee hee. I didn't bring my camera, but I'm hoping to get some of the pictures others took at the party and I'll post them.

The only down fall of the party was when I was leaving and found that my drivers side mirror was busted!! No other damage was done??? I'm wondering how the heck can a car come so close to my car which was parked on the side of the road in front of Scott's house and clip just my mirror?? Anyhow. here is my car less the mirror.

Today I rode a 30km time trial which was hard as my legs were tired form yesterdays ride, but I managed 30kph average, which is good with the difficult hills I have to climb.

After my bike I made a big dent in cleaning my garage getting it ready to park my car in it over the winter. Yay! Woot Woot! Boo Winter!! Booooo!!
