Saturday Rest Day

Not! ........not this Saturday anyway. I'm feeling good, throat is better but I'm sneezing up a storm. I think I have allergies? and not a cold coming on. anyhoo!!...

I went to the gym and did some weights, walked the treadmill and thought about swimming? The problem was? when finished my workout, the pool wasn't open for lane swimming yet? it didn't open until 12:30pm, and I finished my workout at 11:30am. I didn't want to wait around to swim, so I called it a day.

My calf is feeling better, but still tight and a little sore, I did a lot of stretching before and after the mill, but I am getting sharp pains down in my inside ankle. My old injury with my left foot is still hurting as I walk, I don't think it will ever be normal, so I'm just going to bare with it. I see my surgeon in 2 weeks and I will see what he has to say about it and my calf tear?

Still feeling scratchy

I'm feeling better today, but my throat is still scratchy. I don't know whether this cold is coming or going?

What a swim? I'm swimming 100s with this other lady and this English dude who's never been to our pool comes into our lane and swims in between our sets! So I swim over him because he wouldn't move aside to let us go! Then at the end of the pool while we are resting, he starts yelling at us about being courteous and shouldn't swim over other swimmers? WTF!!

I started to tell him off and said, he shouldn't be jumping in between swimmers set when coming into a lane, and he should stop to let the faster swimmers by, and he should be over in the slow lane, then I called the lifeguard to move him.

He just kept rambling to me that I should be more courteous and how we should swim in the lane etc?? Again WTF!! everyone in the lanes beside us where shaking there heads and saying WTF too? The lifeguard finally got him to move, and we finished up are sets.

Then later he comes back to my lane all friendly, tell me his name and wants to shake my hand? Then talks to me in a sort of apologetic way about how everyone should get along?? Basically I just told him if you enter a lane be aware what is going on in that lane and not to jump in on people doing sets, and be courteous yourself if a swimmer comes up behind you, to stop and let them by, that's all the rules you need to know. Duh!!

I swam 2000m 500m warmup a couple 200s rest 100's

Feeling Yucky!

I woke up today with a scratchy throat, I think I'm starting to get a cold/flu.

I pumped myself up with a bunch of Vitamin C and decongestant. I had planed on going to the gym and do some Elliptical, treadmill, weights and then swim after, but had no energy for that so I just went for a swim, I didn't much feel like swimming either. I only did 1000m easy swim and called it a day.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll feel better.

Swim and Shine

This morning I had a quick swim, as in short for time! ......

Melissa who is home from school on reading week, had a dentist appointment this morning to get her teeth cleaned and shined so I didn't swim as much as I wanted.

Tonight Joanne want's to go for a swim, so i can get in another swim to make up the difference.



WHEN IS SPRING COMMING?? IT'S GOING DOWN TO -21C TONIGHT. Brrrrrrrrrrr

Todays training

I swam over the weekend putting in 1000m Sat and 1500m Sun.

Today is a New holiday here in Ontario, called Family day. The rec center is closed so I can't swim. I decided to go down in my basement and try some walking on the treadmil and a little biking.

I walked 4 miles at 3.5 mph and on every mile I stopped, did some stretching, and some reps with my weights, doing squats, presses and sit-ups. At the 3 mile mark of my walk I added 15 min bike spin.

I'll keep this workout going for the next few weeks, adding more walking distance each time, and maybe longer spins in between untill I can start running.
