Tour de Josef

After my 2000m swim yesterday, I did a 30km ride outside, Woooo! fun!! A little cool, but I'd rather ride a little cool then sit in the basement riding the trainer. :-)

More Palates, "The Short Movie"

OK, it was fun today doing Palates, I made a full movie which I wasn't sure it would work, but it did work and it's 46:00min long, so I'll spare you all of watching it as funny as it is until I learn how to edit it and shorten it up for hi-lites



So Here is my short version of my Palates I made after class.



After class I went to the pool and made some diving videos of just basic dives and entry's, I couldn't do much as I didn't want to re-injure my calf and I still can't push up off the board properly.




And one last short diving video from today.

My first dive starts about 30sec in..... Remember I can't really push off the board because of my calf, so I'm not as tight on my dives as I should be or normally am.

Palates and stuff

Palates!! What the heck is Palates? Well I'll find out later this morning. I signed on at the rec center to try it. I was told it will help with my core strength and flexibility, not that I need core strength and flexability, because I'm pretty core strong and flexible to start with! but I guess every little bit helps when it comes to training. Then off to do some more swimming. a person can never get enough swimming!

If it hurts don't.......

I'm back from the Doctor!

The prognosis? If it hurts, don't do it! .... serious! lol

First thing he said to me is hows training? Then he went on to tell me about him doing a tri last week in Florida. He has a summer house there and has been spending a lot of time there over the winter and has been RIDING!! and did his first tri in 5 years last weekend. cool! I said we need to ride over the summer up here.

Then he asked whats up? I went on to tell him about my injury diving. I gave all the details of my diving meet and stuff, he asked me if I was doing this (diving) instead of Tri's, I said hell no! I'll always do tri's.

Anyways, He said my knee is not tore, it's bursitis and it will go away in time. That's a relief! Then I told him about all my other pains etc.

He told me I can do all the swimming and upper body workouts I want, and gave me a script for Apo-Naproxen which I have to take 1 tablet twice a day to relieve my pains of my bursitis, calf strain as well as my joint pains, and not to overwork my calf for a week or so and I'll be as good as new. In other words! if it hurts don't do it! :-)

Going to see Doc.

Today I see the doctor.

I'm seeing him to assess my calf which I hurt at the dive meet last Sat and get a doctors note for work to take as much time off work as needed to rest and heal it. I'm also there to discuss with him about my other on going aliments like my left knee which has been hurting for about 2 months since I strained it one day running the treadmill and diving at the rec center, maybe get an MRI done to see if I have a tear or not? and my joint pain that I deal with every day and other personal stuff.

Chris and Girlfriend MJ Moving In

I finished remodeling/painting chris's bed room, just in time for him/them to move into.

Chris is moving back home after moving out to Montreal last year. Being out of work and out of money his only alternative is to move back home but he is moving back home with his girlfriend MJ. A nice French Canadian girl, she is the reason Chris moved out to Montreal in the first place.
I pick chris up today at 4:30pm in Toronto. He is coming in by bus alone, MJ is coming in on the weekend as she has to finish off her last week at her job before moving here. The both of them plan on living with us and find work here in Barrie and plan on staying/ living with us until they can afford to move out on their own.
So should I read him the riot act on the drive home or should I wait until we are home? Hmmmmm?

Back to Swimming

Today I was to start my run training for the Ottawa Marathon, but since I hurt my calf and can't run, I went to the pool for my swim, which I would have done anyway because Mondays are my swim day's and I would have run after but can't right now.

I'm still limping as I walk and my calf hurts, but it is feeling better, I should be able to do some easy running by the end of the week. I hope!
