Today's challenge

I'll be running the treadmill today, hoping for a steller run of 45 min then I'll do some weights and head down to the pool for a short 1000m swim and about an hour of diving.

The challenge is to do this all pain free?...can it be done? ......I doubt it.

Frigging Car

Stoopid car! strike 3! Enough!

The frigging alternator went on the car costing me another $300.00 for parts and labour. This is the 3rd mechanical repair this month. I can't afford anymore breakdowns! I just can't catch a break! Where is my luck now? Well to tell you the truth I guess I was lucky because my mechanic fixed my car for free, well not free free! just on credit until I can come up with the money to pay him. I still owe him for the last repair. Come on lotto!!

Training is going well, sort of? My arthritis is killing me, my knee is still bothering me while I dive, specially after I run. but mostly all my joints ache. I need to win that worlds best job in Australia to cure my ailments. ; - )

Speaking of the worlds best job! 6 more day until the short list comes out. I hope I get picked! The odds aren't that bad at 30,000 to 1...that's how many applicants are in, hopefully I'll be the 1.

Re certification

I spent all day yesterday re certifying my RLS ( royal lifesaving society) and first aid at the pool.

I didn't need to re cert my first aid because mine is still valid until 2010, but it was part of the course, so it gets renewed anyway, and it's good to get refreshed in first aid anyway. We did first aid the whole morning starting with a written test which we all passed.

After lunch we were in the pool for the life saving part doing all the carries and resuscitation, and simulating life guarding doing rescues. By the end of the day we were cold and wet shivering and with blue lips from going in and out of the water for 4 1/2 hours. At the end of the day we all passed.

SO now I'm certified to guard on deck again and can now coach my diving club when it's running without needing to hire guards on deck, woo hoo!
