My Wife's Oldest Sister Died Today After A Short Battle.

About a year and a half ago my wifes sister was diagnosed with CBD, (Cerebral Basal Degeneration), possibly caused by a deer tick bite. ( we and doc's don't know?) being a close family, we have been dealing with this anguish over the months leading up to now.
We were called by my wife's brother in law that Sunday to tell us the time was near, and to come and pay our respects and say our good-byes before she goes.

I have been supporting and consoling my wife since that time. She is very distraught over the whole deal? ...Why? Why her? what an awful way to go? ....It is very similar to ALS, with the loss of motor functions, but her mental capacity still intact! Knowing her surroundings but unable to communicate with her loss of speech and later limbs!!... eventually all her motor functions shutting down very rapidly.( sick!)

My Wife's sister Sandra was a very personable out going person, very active and religious, she was a teachers teacher loved by students and family alike.

She was a Principal in the Catholic school board in Toronto for years until her retirement. Matter of fact long before I knew my wife growing up, We found out when we were engaged she was my older brothers grade 7 teacher at my elementary school? What a small world??

In her retirement she loved gardening, hence the possible Deer tick infection?( but we don't really know?)

She died tonight, 21/04/08... six days before her 68TH Birthday. :-(
