Calf feeling better and good day to train.
Woo Hoo!! what a day! sunny and warm, going up to 20C today. It's going to be a great day to train!!
This morning I went to the pool and swam up a storm, came home for breakfast ( bacon and eggs & toast) and cooked dinner for the family ( rice and meatloaf ) Made my lunch for work, then went for a short bike ride.
One more sleep..... well half a sleep anyway until the CN Tower stair climb. ( half sleep because by the time I get home from work and get to bed it will be 1am, and I have to get up at 4am to get ready and to go to Toronto in time to be there for the 6 -7am start so I can get the bonus prize they are offering. : )

Damn I tweaked it!
Well that's what i should have done instead! serves me right for not listening to my senses!! ....
Today was looking so nice out I was thinking maybe I should ride today and do a brick run after, and if time, I could go to Holly and do some diving, all before going to work. But Nooooo! I don't listen! I instead go with my plan of going to the rec center and run the treadmill for an hour and then go for a cool down swim, then some diving. so what's the big deal? Well! I'll tell you....
When i got to the rec centre I warmed up first, stretching my legs and extra stretching my calf, no problem, I get on the mill and start my run. After my run I stretch some more, specially my calf, then head down to the pool, no problem. I get in the pool and swim 20 lengths, no problem. I head over to the diving board and start running through my dive list, no problem. I was doing 2 of each dive starting with front dive. no problem, reverse dive, reverse somersault, front 1 1/2, front full with a full twist, no problem. Then I go to the end of the board and set myself up for a back dive pike, no problem.
Now my second back dive pike, BAM!!! ....As I pushed the board for my take off, i tweaked my calf muscle, the one that I pulled a few weeks back. I guess it's still not 100% healed. It was only a little twinge, but enough to say to myself I better stop.
I go to the hot pool and stretch it out. I put it on the jets to message it and then rest it for a while. It's not to bad of a pull, like I said it's just a tweak, but any more of a tweak it would be a muscle pull. I could walk on it but it had some tightness, so I called it a day and headed to work.
I hope it won't effect me on my CN Tower Stair climb on Saturday.

Chilly bike
The weather is looking promising, we might reach the high teens by friday. Woooooo! I'll enjoy riding with the warmer weather, that's for sure!
I didn't go to the rec centre to run or dive today. After all the food and drink over Easter, I didn't feel like going, plus I don't think I can fit into my bathing suit now. I'll go for my swim tomorrow and see how that goes and try to lose a few lbs of water weight before heading to the diving boards on Thurs.
CN Tower stair climb is only 4 days away! I can't wait!

Man have I got wood!
Between my son and I it took about an hour to haul it down.
In other news I set up a new blog for my Diving club, called the Barrie diving club blog. You can access it through the "About me" link on the side of this blog.
It will be used for diving info mostly. Check it out one in a while. : )

Happy Easter.
Our feast was wonderful with another great meal, if I do say so myself after cooking the Turkey, ham, plus all the fixings. : )
The things we do for fun at the dinner table.
Yesterday I went out to arrange and pay for my lumber and drywall to be delivered so I can start building the basement bedroom. I also picked up a entrance door and a pair of bi-fold doors for the closet I will build, plus all the nails, screws door handles etc, that I could take home with me. In toll all materials so far cost $1400. The 2x4's and drywall arrive tomorrow. I'll probably get started framing next weekend.
Yesterday's training.
5k run. But my knee was hurting.
Taking today off training. Although after my Easter meal, I think I should run, but I won't.

Hello long weekend
Tomorrow is the start of the long Easter weekend, I get Easter Monday off to. My plan is to get in some good bike rides and running all weekend long weather permitting. We have an nice Easter dinner planned for Sunday with my mom coming over, but I'll have time to ride while the turkey is cooking. : )
Today's training...
Today I only did a half hour run on the mill, (tomorrow I will be running outside doing another 10k run with Joanne after my bike ride) then I did some weights and went down to the pool for a cool down swim then an hour of 1 and 3m diving.

Where is the warm weather?
I should have stayed home from work last night, it was wicked driving home with the wind and snow. The roads were icy and snow cover all the way home. My plans for bike riding are screwed to! Oh well, the warm weather is coming back and hopefully will melt all the snow fast so I can ride by the weekend. In the mean time I'll do some running until then.

Today's training.
I went to the rec center and ran 10k on the mill, I had to split up the run over two mills, we're only allowed 30 min sign ups for the mills, so I split up my sign ups, 30 on one mill and 30 mins on another if available when I sign up. Total time was 54min. then I went down to the pool for a few lengths of swim warm up, then did an hour of diving between the 3m and 1m boards.
