I promised one of the runners doing the 50k some stroopwaffles and to her surprise I showed up with them and she totally loved them!! I caught her coning around the 12.5k course on her second of for loops and passed one to her before she stopped to enjoy it.
Me passing off the stroopwaffles to Catherine....
Catherine stopped to change here socks while cowing down on the stroopwaffles.
And some of the group of lady's from the Barrie road runner running club after they finished doing the 25k run...
I didn't stick around to see Catherine finish, but she told me later that on her 3rd and final loops she enjoyed the rest of the stroopwaffles even more and is going to use it again in her next big race.
As I headed back home on my bike it started raining more so I was totally soaked by the time I got home, but soon as I got home the rain stopped! go figure!! so I washed my bike off and dried her before bringing her in, I keep my bike inside the house to keep her warm and cosy. lol
The ride was only 60 km out to horseshoe valley and back but a challenging ride with some long 8% and 10% grade hills making for a good solid ride.
Today, Sunday I went out for my long run with Joanne. this time we went down to the running room to run with the group and started out for a 20 k run. Joanne wasn't feeling the run to well today, he legs were tired from her bike spin last night so we cut the route short down to 18k as displayed on the link below.
